Broad-Leaved Cattail

(Tythra Latifolia)

The cattail is a type of a pond reed. They have long slender leaves that reach a height of 6 feet. Cattails spread by their wind-borne seeds. The broad-leaved cattail has flat leaves with a sturdy stem. It is found throughout most of North America as well as other parts of the world.
