The water boatman is found in most ponds and streams. They have long bodies and long, flattened legs. They are insects with remarkable adaptations to life. They can swim very fast. They have erratic swimming patterns. To stay underwater, they need to hold on to some other object. They eat algae. They are scavengers eating decaying plants and animals.
