The eighth grade students of team 8-1 worked very hard under the leadership of Mr. Jay Foster, science teacher, to transplant the front gardens of the school. The yews and liriope are not native species to Maryland. They were moved to the dividers around the parking lot. Sod was removed to accommodate these plants and shrubs. The front beds were planted with flowers and plants native to the area. The sixth grade science classes grew some native flowering plants from seed. These were planted in the new garden around our school sign. We are so proud of our new beds and newly acquired gardening skills.
