en little knights,
Going out to dine,
One choked on a bone,
Now there are nine.
Nine little knights,
Courting out late,
One got fresh,
Now there are eight.
Eight little knights,
Up against eleven,
It was a good fight,
But now they're only seven.
Seven little knights,
Playing with sticks,
One got poked,
Now there are six.
Six little knights,
Fighting for their lives,
One got stabbed,
Now there are five.
Five little knights,
Talking with their lord,
One was a traitor,
Now there are four.
Four little knights,
Travelling over sea,
One got seasick,
Now there are three.
Three little knights,
Got the flu,
One was unlucky,
Now there are only two.
Two little knights,
Sitting in the sun,
One got skin cancer,
Now there is one.
One little knight,
All alone,
All that's left are his bones.
One little knight,
Started with ten,
Now there are none,
I pity those men.
The history of our poem is about the role and life of a knight. Some lines are forced and exaggerated, but most have lines about things that really happened with knights. For instance, if a knight's lord found out he wasn't loyal, the knight would be killed or locked up.
