Barbarians
Anglos and Saxons, Franks, Vandals and Visagoths were tall and blonde
haired. They came from the north of the Rhine River (all German?). They
spoke a Germanic language. They were not very smart.
The barbarian court system had two main parts- Trial by Combat and Trial
by Ordeal. Trial by Combat was when two people fought for innocence. Trial
by Ordeal was to be thrown into the lake. If the persons could float,
they were guilty. If the persons sank, they were innocent. The lines
that fall under this are: verse seven and on.
Manor
Always churches in the manor, because they were very religous. Usually
near the village they had fields for crops and space for farm animals. There
was almost always a castle or manor house to house the lord and lady. Castles
were made of stone (for protection). Castles were constantly being
improved, some later castles had arrow loops.
