A New Principal for Gaithersburg High School
Wednesday, March 21st, following a short business meeting, in the Gaithersburg High School Media Center, Ms. Jennifer Webster will share with parents the
process for hiring a new principal. Parents will have a chance to share
their opinions on characteristics they would like to see in the new High
School Principal. You are encouraged to attend and help build a list of
characteristics, as well as, to hear about the process.
8th Grade Field Trip
On April 13, the 8th Grade staff and students will have a field trip to Hot Skates! We will be
participating in a unique
educational experience that gets students EXCITED about
learning! Students will learn how concepts
of SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING and MATH can
be found in everyday experiences, even FUN experiences
like ROLLER SKATING! Students will participate in a STEM lesson and then
will have time for some physical activity through skating. The cost of the trip
includes admission, skate rental, with all you can eat Pizza and drinks for
lunch. We sincerely hope that your child will be able to attend this

7th Grade Fundraiser- Mixed Bag Designs
us raise funds for our 7th grade students. The FOMS 7th Grade Team is hosting a
fundraiser with Mixed Bag Designs, who sells a curated collection of products
across home, garden, office, travel, organization, and more. Click here for more information and a link to the catalog.
Extended Day Math Support to Begin Soon
FOMS will be
offering Extended Day Program support classes for Math 6, Math7/IM, and
Algebra this year. Invitations will be going out this week.
If you are interested in getting extra help with math and did not get an
invitation please contact your child's counselor or Ms. Tynes. The intervention classes will be held two
afternoons starting the week of November 14, 2017 and run for no more than 25
sessions ending the week of March 15, 2018. The program will meet directly
after school starting at 3:10 p.m. and will end at 4:25 p.m. Attached are the
specific dates for each class. A snack/hot meal will be provided. Students in
this program will be eligible for activity bus transportation if they live
within the designated route areas. There will be approximately 20 students in a
class. To obtain maximum benefit from this program, your child needs to be
present every day. Please take this into consideration if your child already
