Montgomery County Public Schools

Forest Knolls is a special school for a number of reasons, the most obvious being our state-of-the-art building which opened in January, 1994. The new Forest Knolls building is not only pleasing to the eye, it is functional and meets the needs of all our students. It is a comfortable and safe environment for our children to learn and is equipped with the best technology that supports that learning experience. Our PC computers are connected via a local area network and we are connected to other county schools via a wide area network. Students and staff can communicate by electronic mail, and do on-line research on remote databases.

Forest Knolls is a community school that is enriched by its ethnically diverse populations: its curriculum is implemented by a staff that works closely together in maximizing the learning potentials of all the students; it has a Communication Arts focus, and has a total inclusion program for our physically challenged students. Our staff has been trained in strategies to enhance classroom activities to provide an extra challenge for students who may have been identified as gifted and talented. As with all programs at Forest Knolls, all students benefit from this diversified approach to meeting individual needs.
