NASA is the National Space and Aeronautics
Administration of the United States of America. NASA scientists invent many
products that are used in their space program on Earth and in outer space. Lots
of money has been spent by the United States government to help NASA improve
flight in Earth’s atmosphere and in space. Because they were so successful,
NASA decided to share these products or technologies with people like us who are
not astronauts or space scientists.
In our school NASA program, we have learned that many inventions and
technologies could be helpful to people on Earth. NASA has a special department
called Technology Transfer. The people in this office try to find ways that NASA
products or technologies can help people on Earth. They call these products or
technologies “spin-offs”. Our web site shows what we have learned about some
of these spin-offs. Select a product from the list below to learn more!
This web page was produced by 2nd
graders at Forest Knolls as part of a NASA project on Spinoffs.
