Media Center Hours
The Flower Valley Media Center is open to students from 8:30 AM to 3:05 PM.
Students may come in before the start of school to borrow and return books. Students may visit at any other times during the day with teacher permission.


Media Center Mission

Our mission is to provide students and staff with access to books, technology, ideas, information, and other learning opportunities.

We strive to instill a love of literature and learning, facilitate access to information, and help media center patrons become effective users of information.

This will be done by:

  • acquiring, promoting, and sharing high-quality books and literature
  • managing and teaching about ways to access information
  • implementing the information literacy framework integrated with the curriculum to teacher information literacy skills

Online Encyclopedias
There are many subscription resources available to MCPS students on the internet. Students may access these sites from their home computer with the correct passwords. Passwords may be obtained from the Flower Valley Media Center.
