Science Expo

The Science Inquiry Project is an integral part of our curriculum.  Students will have the opportunity to complete a well designed investigation to show their understanding of the scientific process.  Details were shared in class with due dates and deadlines for components of the project.  The final project is due January 29th and the Science Expo at Farquhar is Febraury 13th.  Everyone is invited to attend on to view projects.  Students also have a chance to be invited to the Science Inquiry Conference.  Details about the conference will be coming out soon.  The Science Montgomery, Science Fair is another option for interested students.  Any student interested should go to the November 30th meeting in the cafeteria during their lunch to meet with Dr. Arias.  He will present information for students regarding the fair.  The Science Montgomery Fair is an outside of school event and is not sponsored by Farquhar Middle School Science teachers.   If you have any questions, let me know.

For the Inquiry Conference Selections:

Students who wish to be considered:

• A written letter of interest must be turned in
• They must use metric units
• Ideas must be original
• PowerPoint is preferred
• Grades need to be between 95 and 100%
• Sound science must be used
• No partners
• Good presentation skills
• data needs to be specific and accurate
• Conclusion and Abstract are written using scientific terminology.

Outside of the school judges will make the final selections.
