About this Club: The Asian Club is representative of a small diverse community that bonds together and participates in many fascinating activities. Asian Club is not only for those who are Asians or Pacific Islanders, but for people of all different backgrounds.
Objective: To give insight on Asian culture to everyone curious. The club is most known for its annual Asian Dinner. We also recognize special holidays celebrated in Asia and try to prepare something for each of those days.

Objective: To develop skills as amateur astronomers.
Meetings: We meet Wednesdays after school in Room 217. We will also have periodic meetings in the evening.
Activities: We will make periodic daytime and evening observations using telescopes and other instruments. We may visit nearby observatories and NASA facilities and invite professional astronomers to give talks. We will perform public outreach to the AEHS community including the feeder middle school.

About this Club: Best Buddies is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with intellectual disabilities by providing opportunities for one-to-one friendships. Best Buddies matches students with intellectual disabilities with other high school students and creates one-to-one friendships between them. The students socialize together as well as participate in community and volunteer activities.

About this Club:The Bible club meets weekly to promote bible reading, and to discuss the relevance of the Bible on everyday student life. Members are encouraged to bring questions concerning the Bible and issues surrounding its interpretation to meetings for group discussion.
Objectives: The Bible Club’s objective is to make Bible reading an integral part of student life. Monthly field trips, group projects, and contact with Bible Clubs in other MCPS high schools help enhance the Bible club experience.

About this Club: The Debate Team is a club for those students interested in learning to argue effectively on topics provided by the National Forensics League. Once a month, each member of the team debates a student from another school and scores are given by a judge. Although each member is individually scored, the team assists each other in researching, writing, and practicing their speeches. Debate provides students with the opportunity to improve their speaking skills and their self-esteem.

About this Club:The Environmental Club works to keep our surroundings clean and beautiful. The Club helps to run the recycling of paper products in the school along with educating students and staff on what can be recycled. The members have an opportunity to participate in the county Green School events and activities. The Club helps to clean up parks in Montgomery County throughout the school year. We raise money to donate to environmental organizations that help keep the world clean and wildlife abundant.

About this Club: The Ethiopian/Eritrean Club was formed six years ago to promote the rich cultural traditions and serve the needs and interests of students from the horn of Africa. The club is open to all A.E.H.S. students. The purpose of the club is to be in contact with Ethiopian and Eritrean culture through films, guest speakers, field trips and parties. We will be part of the International Night's dinner and fashion show.

About this Club: The Forensics Team is dedicated to the art of oratory, competing with other high school students on the local and national levels. Students meet at least once a week to develop the oral interpretive skills in presenting works of drama, humor, poetry and prose. These works are performed in county and regional meets at least four time/places per year and judged according to the competitive guidelines established by the Montgomery County and National Forensics League.

About this Club: The French Club is dedicated to the promotion and enjoyment of French language and culture, both in and out of school. Students receive individual and peer tutoring in French, see movies, listen to music, read magazines, or pursue any other linguistic or cultural interest not integrated or available within the curriculum. Club members will also plan to attend events of interest sponsored by the French Embassy, the Alliance Française, and other francophone institutions within the greater metropolitan area. French Club members will also receive information regarding any trips to francophone countries sponsored by Einstein or advertised in the MCPS foreign language community.

About this Club: To provide a safe and supportive meeting place and discussion forum for sexual minority and questioning (GLBTQ) students as well as their friend and allies to discuss topics of interest. The GSA works to encourage more inclusive and accepting attitudes among fellow Einstein students and staff. The GSA has also hosted guest speakers, participated in social events, attended free performances, and organized "day of silence" activities at Einstein to promote awareness of HIV/AIDS. The GSA will be what you make it! If you have ideas, come and share them!

About this Club: The Jaime Escalante Latino Honor Society is an association for outstanding Latino students who show academic excellence and love to help the community. It promotes Latino culture, student achievement and intercultural understanding. To be a member of this club, students must have at least a 3.0 GPA and teacher recommendation. During meetings, Jaime Escalante members find information on issues of interest such as looking for jobs, educational opportunities, finding scholarships, and helping the Latino community.

About this Club: The International Honors Council ( I .H.C.) is a club for ESOL and Transition students with a GPA of 3.0 or better who are interested in being part of an international community. I.H.C. students take on leadership roles in order to promote the understanding of the different cultures within Albert Einstein High School . Club members also work collaboratively in order to prepare for college applications and interviews. About this Club: Do you have a good brain and an itchy trigger finger? Come buzz along with Einstein High School's academic competition team. We compete on NBC 4's It's Academic!, Montgomery County cable's Quizmaster Challenge, and other local academic competitions. The Journalism class meets 5th period, during which time the some of the student newspaper, The Nucleus, is produced. In order to register for the journalism class, a recommendation is needed from your English teacher verifying that you are a solid, reliable writer. Respect for deadlines is crucial. If your schedule does not permit you to take this class, you are welcome to attend meetings held most Tuesdays during lunch in Ms. Kelley’s room, 144. We need writers, designers, photographers, and fundraisers. Being on the staff provides an opportunity to work with a diverse group of students and raise awareness on issues within the school and be part of the student voice

About this Club: The Latin American Students United Club (L.A.S.U.) at Albert Einstein High School is a student run organization. About this Club: The Latin American Students United “Dance Group” at Einstein is a group formed by students working together to represent the Latino community performing traditional and popular dances. We participate in many activities throughout the year, such as: The Annual Montgomery County Public Schools Latin Dance Competition, school assemblies and events in the Maryland and DC area. About this Club: Mathletes is a club that mainly focuses on preparation for challenging math exams. Math League and the American Mathematics Competition give the exams we are administering. About this Club: Do you want to compete using your brain and your mouth instead of your arms and your legs? Have you ever had the urge to shout out, "I object?" Then the Einstein "Mock Trial Team" may be just the place for you. "Mock Trial" is an interscholastic competition involving high school teams from throughout the state of Maryland. Serving as lawyers and witnesses, students compete before real life judges in real life courtrooms. Each competition is the entire trial, from opening arguments through the judge's verdict. It may involve a pretend situation, but it truly feels real. Sound like fun? Then please see Mr. Garfinkel in Room 162 for more details.

About this Club:The National Honor Society was created in 1921 by the National Association of Secondary School Principals to recognize and encourage academic achievement while developing other characteristics essential to citizens in a democracy. National Honor Society is a prestigious organization that is restricted to only students who strive and excel in school. Membership is only granted to distinguished students who demonstrate character, service, leadership, and scholarship. Candidates are inducted in their sophomore, junior or senior year. Once inducted to the organization, members participate in various service projects. Service projects are events in which members volunteer their time to help out in the community.

About this Club: At AEHS, we say we uphold Einstein's name by following his academic excellence. A recent graduate, having participated in this program, commented that although this statement was true, we forget his academic excellence extends beyond the sciences. She observed it was not until last year that she learned about Einstein's history of peace activism - peace (he said) cannot be achieved through violence. It can only be attained through understanding. If you have not realized it before, the fact is, we all rely on a variety of heroes to provide us inspiration for our life's dreams. However, rarely do we take time to consider the ones who, by their humanitarian and nonviolent effort, also provide everyone, the world over, with challenging thoughts designed to make dreams come true - they are our peace heroes. Albert Einstein is one of these heroes.
You are invited to join this year's group and, for a short period each week, delve into the minds of some extraordinary people.

About this Club: The Photography Club encourages students to take advantage of the rich art resources in the DC/Baltimore metro area by offering supervised trips to visit museums, galleries, art colleges, artists' studios, lectures, seminars, etc. as well as giving students the opportunity to photograph interesting locations. While the primary emphasis is on photography, works by artists working in all media are considered. The club also offers studio,darkroom, and digital equipment access and assistance to students, whether or not they are currently enrolled in a photography class.

About this Club: The Albert Einstein High School Step Team serves as a positive outlet for young girls to showcase their talents of choreography, dance, music, and performance. The steppers use their bodies as musical instruments to produce complex rhythms and beats through a mixture of foot-stomping, hand-clapping, boisterous chants, and song. The team members were affectionately named the Lady Titanettes by the 2007-2008 Step Team Captain Nikkiya Spruiel, to represent the sense of strength, power, and accomplishment participation on the team has provided for the steppers. The Einstein Step Team’s mission is to cultivate confidence, foster unity, teach discipline, and provide leadership opportunities for the young ladies involved. The Step Team’s primary goal is to promote Einstein school spirit using their rhythmic routines to generate enthusiasm and excitement for the viewers. The Lady Titanettes use their energetic steps to celebrate, uplift, motivate, and inspire young people to get involved in fun and positive activities. The Step Team also encourages Einstein unity by building bridges across cultures and promoting diversity on the team in hopes that the spirit of unity will permeate the school.

About this Club: The Student Academy of Science, more casually known as the Science Club, is sponsored by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. At the club meetings we have fun with all fields of science according to the student's interests. Past activities have including glass bending labs, chemistry competitions and a guest speaker on space medicine. At the club meetings we do laboratory investigations (beyond the scope of the school curriculum), have guest speakers, watch scientific videos, and participate in field trips. The Science Club meets the First and Third Wednesdays of each month in room 236.
Objectives:
Stimulate student interest in careers opportunities in biomedical and other research areas through a program of visits to laboratories, presentations by scientists, discussion of videos, and other extra curricular activities.
Assist students who are preparing applications for science internships and other career exploration activities.

Time/Place: First and third Wednesday of every month at 2:15 pm in the Career Center The DuBois Honor Society recognizes, encourages, and promotes scholastic achievement, leadership development, and active involvement in positive community activities among African American students. Students are involved in a variety of activities: Help the Homeless Walkathon, preparing gift packs for local shelters/nursing homes, serving as mentors and tutors for fellow students, serving as volunteers for Einstein activities, etc. Students are invited to join, usually in February and must have a minimum 3.0 GPA to be inducted.

This elective course is designed to have students
explore the world of journalism with hands-on experience in creating the
school yearbook. Students are responsible for the creation of this book by writing, taking pictures, and attending school functions. Students will receive training in layout, design and desktop publishing. Students will also participate in selling advertisements and books sales for the book.
