Titans Kick It With a Win

On a steamy hot Saturday afternoon, the Titans varsity girls soccer team was even hotter.
Fifteen minutes into the first half, junior Mary Landfair scored a goal with a hard, low shot from the side, assisted by junior Amy Brookhart, against a tenacious Rockville goalie. The two teams battled through the heat, taking additional shots that failed to penetrate. Titan sophomore goalie Jordan Solomon even deflected a close-in penalty shot.
The Titans held on to their 1-0 lead through the swelter to take home a victory.

Overtime Victory for Varsity Titans

The Titans girls varsity team faced another overtime on Thursday against tough crosstown opponent Kennedy High School, but determined play helped seal an Einstein 2-1 win at Titan Field.
The Titans took the lead with an early goal. The score remained 1-0 into the second half, as Titan goalie Jordan Solomon fended off multiple shots by Kennedy. Kennedy eventually scored on a penalty shot, and the game was tied.
A few minutes into overtime, junior Lara Brenne got off a successful shot, clinching the Titan girls' first victory of the season.

It's a Draw for Einstein and Springbrook

A prolonged overtime couldn't budge a hard-fought standoff between Einstein and Springbrook girls varsity soccer teams, and the Titans' first game of the season ended in a 1-1 tie.
Einstein scored early in the first quarter at Titan Field and kept the Springbrook goalie busy with several attempted goals in the second.  Springbrook scored in the final minutes of regulation play to send the game into overtime.
Two 10-minute overtime periods followed, but no one gave up the "golden goal."
