PTSA Mission
The Einstein High School Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) is committed to advocating for the success of all students at Einstein. Throughout the year, volunteers produce and distribute the newsletter, the Quantum Quest and student directory, maintain the listserve and bulletin, and organize community events including the annual College Fair, the Taste of Einstein and the After Prom. The PTSA also sponsors the new Mini-Grants program for teachers, staff appreciation breakfasts and advocates for Einstein students and teachers to the Board of Education and the County Council. We welcome your ideas and involvement. Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month at 7:00 pm at Einstein. Check the web site or newsletter for details on individual meetings and other PTSA-sponsored events. Parents, teachers and students are welcome at all meetings and events. Please join the PTSA and make a contribution to support the PTSA.
Announcements
Greetings and I hope you all are having a great summer- whether it's to relax or rev up. We're excited about the coming year but first want to thank a couple of people. Namely, thanks to Gary Weil who served so ably as Treasurer this past year. We appreciate his expertise, time and good humor throughout the school year and wish him, his wife Ellen and their boys Seth and Josh all the best as they leave the Einstein school community- although I wouldn't be surprised if we still see them pitching in at various times! Gary is handing the reins to Wyatt Hardiman, whom I look forward to working with and getting to know.
Second, thanks to Brenda Mejia who was able to crank out in very short order the 5x7 PTSA Information cards that are part of the summer mailing- you should have received that by now. Brenda updated all the contact info, so look for the handy card to see how you can lend a hand at school this year. We hope these cards, with the PTSA events and contact info, generate some additional volunteers for the coming year.
Thanks also to the folks who have expressed an interest in coordinating with other down county consortium schools to host shared PTSA meetings on topics of similar interests. If you'd like to join this group and brainstorm with them, please contact me and I'll relay the information.
We're still looking for a couple of folks to help with the drive to enroll more student members this year so again, send me a note and I'll pass your name along. I think the actual sign up will occur in school, so it's more talking with staff and compiling a membership roster once we have that.
We've had one request for help from the school- we need three people to cover the phones on August 22 from 7:30 until about 10:30 so that staff can attend a meeting. Please contact me if you can help during any part of that time.
Finally, the freshman picnic for incoming ninth graders is August 25 from 10-11:00, if anyone can join me at a PTSA table to welcome students and parents. We'll have membership information and just provide a friendly face for new folks coming to Einstein.
Enjoy the end of vacation- see you at Back to School Night, if not before!
Ellen Sands

Sign Up Online For Einstein Gift Wrap
Follow These Easy Steps
2.) Click on "Sign In"
3.) User ID: aehsgiftwrap
4.) Password: presents (Note: Even if you have your own Yahoo ID and password, please sign in using this one)
5.) Under "My Groups" click on "AEHSGiftwrapping"
6.) Click on "Calendar" in column on left. This will take you to today's date.
7.) Use the calendar on the right side to go to the day you want to update.
8.) To add yourself to the calendar, click on the time you want to begin working (or click on the "add event" link). Please note the number of volunteers needed on each date, and take into account where there are gaps in coverage.
9.) Fill out the form by adding your name and phone number to the title box and the number of hours you will be working, NOT the time you finish working. Put an "N" next to your name if you are a new wrapper, or would like to be paired with someone who knows the ropes.
10.) Click "save" at the top or bottom of the screen.
11.) The information you just added should show up on the appropriate line on the calendar. Use the "edit" or "delete" links if you need to make changes. Be sure you included your phone number with your name.
12.) Hit the "refresh" button on your browser every few minutes in case someone else is updating the calendar at the same time.
Note: Don't use the "add task" link. You are an "event," not a "task."
