Course Description:

0.5 credit per semester

Calculus AB topics are those traditionally offered in the first year of calculus in college, and are designed for students who wish to obtain a semester of advanced placement in college. The topics studied include limits, continuity, derivatives and integrals of algebraic and transcendental functions and their applications, and elementary differential equations.

Prerequisite: Attainment of the outcomes of Precalculus A and B

Course Name: AP Calculus B/C

Course Description:

0.5 credit per semester

Calculus BC includes all of the topics in Calculus AB, as well as convergence tests for series, Taylor or Maclaurin series, vector, polar, and parametric functions. Students in BC Calculus generally receive two semesters of Advanced Placement in mathematics.

Course Name: AP Statistics

Course Description:

0.5 credit per semester 

This course is a college level elective course designed to enhance a student’s high school mathematical experience. Students are introduced to the major tools and concepts for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data used in real world situations. The course approaches mathematical investigation using analytic, geometric, numeric, and communicative methods. The techniques to design and implement a statistical study are a major focus throughout the course.

Prerequisites: Attainment of the outcomes of Algebra 2 A and B. 

Grade Level: Typically 11-12
