What is Skills USA?

SkillsUSA is America’s proud champion of the skilled trades. It is a student-led partnership of education and industry that’s building the future skilled workforce our nation depends on with graduates who are career ready, day one.

It's mission is accomplished through the SkillsUSA Framework of Personal Skills, Workplace Skills and Technical Skills Grounded in Academics, which is integrated into classroom curriculum.

 

Program of Work

Our SkillsUSA Officers and Program Representatives plan a year of programming that includes opportunities for (1) community service (2) leadership development (3) alumni and industry partner engagement (4) workplace experiences (5) competition and (6) fundraising.

2023 Local Competition

Thomas Edison High School of Tehcnology will host local competitions for all programs the week of December 11th. Auto and Construction programs will compete the 11th and 12th. Services programs will compete on December 13th and 14th. Our pinning ceremony to recognize winners will occur on Friday, December 15th. 

Locals is an awesome opportunity for our students to receive feedback from industry professionals on their performance and engage in rigorous competition in which they get to show off their career and technical skills. Winners advance to regionals or states. Gold medalists at state competition will advance to national competition which will take place in June in Atlanta, Georgia.
