Medical Careers is an academically challenging, one-year course that combines science with technology. The learning environment includes a classroom, a computer research lab, and a clinical laboratory with patient care equipment, EKG monitors, electronic vital signs equipment, specialized training mannequins and advanced emergency medical equipment. Students prepare to succeed in challenging medical professions and to make informed career decisions.

      • Provide students the certified health care skills that enable them to train and work along with health care professionals in various settings.
      • Expose students to the wide variety of post secondary educations and employ,emt options available in the medical careeers fields.
      • Develop student understanding of professional conduct and medical ethics.
      • Ability to read a 700 pg. medical college-level textbook
      • Ability to do high level science learning and application
      • Ability to do calculations for drug doses, vital signs, weights, etc. using metric measures
      • Professional demeanor required for students who will work with very ill patients
      • Safety conscious, mature, trustworthy, respectful, and cooperative
      • Ability to communicate to MD's and RN's on their findings
      • Ability to memorize 1,000+ medical terms in their first semester
