Carpentry is a two-year program in which students learn about the home building industry. Students apply the knowledge and skills they learn by participating in the "student-built" house project. Carpentry uses the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) curriculum. This is a nationally accredited, competency-based construction-training program. This curriculum ties textbook information with hands-on proficiencies. Students master a variety of construction skills such as reading and interpreting blueprints, construction of floor and wall systems, and installing stairs and cabinets.
