What is Lightwave?
Lightwave is a 3-D software program that allows us to create images in 3-D
3-D allows us to view an object or shape from any angle. We can use real world
textures and Lighting.
So far we've looked at objects from 2 angles:
x- left to right
y- up and down
With 3-D, Lightwave we're going to be looking at:
z- front to back
z or front to back is what gives that 3-D effect.
Elements
Elements that are found in 3-D images are:
- Textures
- Textures help you create smooth or rough surfaces, in other words a
more realistic look
- Lighting
- Lighting is used to create different effects,spotlights or distant
lights or area lighting
- Environments
- Where is your image located? In space in a room outside or maybe in
a cave. The environment allows you to create a place for your object
to be located
- Atmosphere
- Detail and realism
