Our mission is to ensure that all patrons of the Media Center become independent users of ideas and information. We will support the instructional program at DuFief, and foster a love of reading, a love of learning, and help implement research designed to support the curriculum at all grade levels. In 2007 the Media Center was part of the school-wide Technology Modernization with 29 new computers in our brand new computer lab. Students are already taking advantage of this wonderful resource! Media Center Hours: The Media Center is open daily from 8:55am until 3:00pm for students. There is an open book exchange every morning from 8:55-9:15 with the classroom teacher's permission. Each class has a scheduled book exchange once per week. K-2 meet for a fixed media class each week. Grade 3-5 meet for special research or media classes as needed. Staff: Mrs. Judy Williams, Media Specialist Mrs. Rosie McKee, Media Assistant Volunteers: The Media Center has many parent volunteers. Parent volunteers are an integral part of the Library Media Program. They perform many tasks including everything from processing new materials to checking out books for students and staff. They also assist classroom teachers in the computer lab. MCPS Online Services: DuFief families have on-line access to these services.
