Taking the Advanced Placement exams is an important part of all AP courses. Damascus High School desires that all students take AP exams for their AP classes based upon consultation with the AP teacher.   Scoring well on an AP exam can often earn students college credit for their high school class, saving a significant amount on tuition.  It is the student's responsibility to consult the college catalogues of interest to determine each school's Advanced Placement policy.   

For the 2018 AP exams, Damascus High School students will register online. This registration will take a few minutes and can be completed from any internet access computer.

This year each AP exam costs $94.00.  

Online Exam registration will begin on Friday, February 2, 2018 and end on Wednesday, February 28, 2015 at 11:59 PM. In order to register, students should click on the link provided on the Damascus High School home page or visit www.TotalRegistration.net/AP/210460  to register .To complete the AP registration, students must answer all required questions. Registration is not complete until students have printed the .pdf of the confirmation page.  We strongly recommend that parents and students are both present while registering to ensure that the correct exams are ordered.

Damascus High School is excited to offer families the convenience of paying exam fees online at the time of registration. Please be sure to have a credit card or debit card available before beginning registration . Please note that if you are paying by credit card or debit card, there will be a convenience fee charged by the MCPS service provider.   Paying online is a great way to make sure that payment has been made while avoiding the lines at the School Counseling Office.  You may also pay in cash or check (payable to "Damascus High School"). IF YOU ARE PAYING BY CASH OR CHECK IN THE SCHOOL COUNSELING OFFICE, PLEASE BRING A COPY OF YOUR CONFIRMATION PAGE.  You may bring your payment to Ms. Hogentogler, School Counseling Secretary, before school, during lunch, or after school.  Our office is open from 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. 

Here are the important dates for the registration process:

  • Friday, Feb 2, 2018 12:01 AM - Registration begins  
  • Friday, Feb 23, 2018 at 11:59 PM - Regular registration ends  
  • Monday, February 26, 2018 at 12:01 AM - Late registration will incur a $15 late fee  
  • Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 11:59 PM -  Late registration with payment ends  
  • Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 11:59 PM - Deadline for full refund in writing for exam cancellation  
  • Saturday, March 3, 2018 by 11:59 PM - Registrations that have not been paid for will be cancelled and exams will not be ordered.
