PARCC - Alt Bell Schedule

When: Friday, May 19, 2017

We will have a modified bell schedule between May 18 - May 25 to accommodate HSA and PARCC testing. You can access the schedule below.

During these dates, the buses run on a normal schedule, arriving at school by 7:45 am and leaving school at 2:30 pm. On the days when an HSA or PARCC assessment is given, only students taking the assessments need to be at school in the morning. The cafeteria and media center are open for students who arrive in the morning but do not have a test to take. Assessments are given in English 10 (called PARCC ELA on the testing schedule), Government, and Biology. If your child is currently taking English 10, he/she should attend testing on the PARCC ELA testing days. If your child is currently taking NSL Government or AP NSL, he/she should attend testing on the Government HSA day. If your child is currently taking Biology, he/she should attend testing on the Biology HSA day. These tests are state requirements for graduation, so any absences on this day will require the students to do the make up test the following week. We appreciate your support ensuring students are rested and to school on time during the testing days. All students should attend classes after testing according to the altered bell schedule linked above.

You will also notice on the schedule that seniors have a modified schedule during this week. Seniors are responsible for taking a "final assessment" during senior exam week May 22 - May 25th. If the county Required Quarterly Assessment (RQA) falls before seniors leave, the RQA serves as the final assessment. For all other courses, seniors will complete a teacher generated assessment. The senior "final assessment" counts for 10% of the 4th quarter grades
