BENEFITS: Magnet Field Trip to NYC Students
WHAT IS THE "SILENT AUCTION"? A Silent Auction will be held during the Spaghetti Dinner on September 18 and will go from 5:30 until 7:15 PM. MANY exciting items will be available to bid on. A brief description of some of the items and bidding process follows.
HOW DOES A SILENT AUCTION WORK? The items up for bid will be displayed and each one will have a numbered sheet displayed with it. To bid, a person simply enters their name and the amount they are bidding for the prize. If another person wants to get the prize, they put their name and a new, higher bid below yours. During dinner, people can go and see if the bid has been raised. At that point, you may enter your name and new amount if you still feel you want the item. At the end of bidding, the person whose name is at the bottom of the list (and who has therefore bid the most) will be declared the winner of that prize. Only the winning bidder pays and gets the prize.
