The Spanish Honor Society is going to be offering tutoring for Spanish beginning Tuesday, October 14, 2008 in room 147 during lunch. Those who need help in Spanish are encouraged to come!

Step team tryouts are being held on Tuesday, October 14 , and Thursday, October 16. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Neely in Portable 3.

Attention Clarksburg students who want to make Halloween special for kids in our community. The Leo’s Club will be holding a costume drive from October 8th thru 24th. Simply bring in new or used children’s Halloween costumes to your 1st period teacher. You can personally make a difference in the life of a child this Halloween!

Ambassadors, please remember to bring your shirt order payments to Ms. Amberg in room 151 no later than October 14th. The order will be placed on Wednesday.

All boys interested in playing lacrosse need to come to a meeting on Tuesday October 14th, in room 117 during lunch. Winter league information and workouts will be discussed. Anyone with questions can see Coach Belcher in room 109

The JV football team improved to 4-1 with a 40-7 victory over B-CC on Saturday. The team plays this Saturday at Rockville at 10 am. Come out and support your JV football team

Students who have received blood drive appointment cards for tomorrow who require parental consent must turn in their parental consent forms prior to donating blood.

Hey Coyotes! The cost of Homecoming tickets this week is $20. Be sure to stop by the auditorium concession stand during lunch to get your ticket before the prices climb again next week to $25! Remember, if you wish to bring an out-of-school guest you must complete the blue form prior to purchasing your guest’s ticket. Don’t wait till the last minute!

Hey CHS! Homecoming is fast approaching and we will kick off our 3rd Annual Homecoming Spirit week next Monday. The more students we have participating and dressing up the more fun it is for all of us! Plus, you will earn a spirit link in your 4th period class which will help your grade win homecoming! Our spirit days for next week are as follows:
Monday: Wacky-Tacky
Tuesday: Generation (Freshmen dress as babys, Sophomores as pre-teens, Juniors as adults and Seniors as Senior citizens)
Wednesday: Sports day
Thursday: Movie character day
Friday: School Spirit Day

HEY LADIES…THERE WILL BE A BRIEF GIRLS BASKETBALL MEETING THIS THURSDAY, OCTOBER 16TH, FOR ALL GIRLS INTERESTED IN TRYING OUT FOR THE CHS JV AND VARSITY GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAMS - - ONCE AGAIN, THIS THURSDAY AT THE BEGINNING OF LUNCH - AT 11:00 FOR ANY GIRLS INTERESTED IN TRYING OUT FOR THE JV OR VARSITY GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM. MEET IN THE MAIN GYM. BE PROMPT!

Congratulations to the JV and Varsity Field Hockey Teams as they defeated cross-town rivals Watkins Mill, JV 5-0 and Varsity 5-1. Scoring for the Varsity Lady Coyotes were Amber Huff (2 goals), Katie Bertrand, Bri Moylan, and Susan Wu with assists from Bri Moylan, Samantha Amberg (2 assists), and Jecille Flowers. It was an outstanding TEAM effort!!!. Way to go Ladies!!! The Coyotes are on a 2-game win streak as they take on Kennedy away Tuesday for a 3:30 game, JV follows. Good luck Coyotes!

This is a reminder for all students interested in joining the CHS chapter of The National Art Honor Society. Membership applications must be turned in to Mrs. Galloro by this Thursday, October 16. You can drop off completed applications to Mrs. Galloro in room 140.

Congratulations the the Girls Varsity Tennis team for defeating Northwood High School on Friday night by a score of 7 – 0. The victory secured the Division III championship title for the Coyotes. This is the first Championship for Tennis at Clarksburg! Way to go ladies!!!!!

Congratulations to the boy’s soccer team for clinching their 1st ever division title with a win over Poolesville this weekend.  Peabo Do-A had two goals and Dillon Muse had two assists for the Coyotes.  Come out and support your seniors tonight as they face Tuscarora at 7 PM.

Attention anyone interested in joining the Indoor Track team. Please come to room 208, Coach Mathias’ room, at lunch on Thursday

Lit Mag will be meeting in Portable #1 at lunch TODAY! Come see new photos and discuss some poetry.

Congratulations to the Varsity Football team on their victory over BCC on Friday night. The team was led by Cody Martin throwing for 224 yards and three touchdowns. Two touchdowns were caught by Andrew Veith and one by Myles Daughtry. The Coyotes play for the Divisional Championship this Thursday night at Rockville. Be there early as the game is sure to be sold out. The kickoff time is 6:30 pm.

Attention Seniors…. There will be an important senior meeting on Wednesday morning at 9:30. Please report to school at 9:30 and enter through the
auditorium doors. The senior class photo will be taken following the meeting. Bring your order form and payment with you to the meeting.
