Principals Message:

REGARDING OUR MASCOT, THE COYOTE:

I believe the Coyote was an excellent mascot choice for a number of reasons. First, Coyotes are highly intelligent animals known for their adaptability to new environments. You will soon face the challenge of leaving what you have known at your home schools to embark on a new adventure at Clarksburg High School. Just like the Coyote, you too will adjust and adapt to a new environment and make it your own. Second, Coyotes value family. The young are often nurtured by their parents and tend to settle within a few miles of their original homes once they have grown. We, at Clarksburg High School, hope to join with your families to help guide you along the path to success and support you even after you graduate and “leave the den.” Finally, Coyotes are omnivores, eating anything they can chew from wild berries to insects to rodents. It is essential that you become as resourceful as the Coyote, seeking every opportunity to gain the intellectual nourishment you need to set and reach your goals. We will be there to support you every step along the way.
