Ms. Cox

Ms. Cox

Hello, my name is Nicole Indya Cox. I have a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction from National Louis University. My favorite subjects are writing and reading. My hobbies are shopping, traveling, and of course eating out. I have a dog named Mickey and many Madagascar hissing cockroaches.

Mrs. Kleiner

My name is Nan Kleiner and this is my third year teaching third grade at CCES. I received my Undergraduate and Master’s degrees from the University of South Carolina. I have taught third grade in South Carolina in a brain compatible classroom, and I have taught third grade and kindergarten in New Jersey.  I am very interested in the brain as it relates to teaching. In my classroom, I get excited about using brain compatible strategies that take advantage of how the brain learns best. In my free time, I love to hike, camp and see live music. When I am at home, I enjoy reading and cooking. My husband, Jonas, and I have two Bengal cats: Taj Mahal and Stella Blue.

Ms. Mathers

Ms. Mathers

My name is Megan  Mathers and I am so excited to be teaching third grade at Chevy Chase Elementary for the fourth year now.  I have been teaching for 10 years.  Before I taught here at Chevy Chase, I taught at Glenn Dale Elementary School in PG County.  I went to the University of Maryland for my Bachelor's Degree, Bowie State University for my Master's Degree, and have taken classes at GW University(Can you tell I think learning is really important??!!).  In my free time I love to read (especially Harry Potter!), try new restaurants with my family and friends, and watch movies.  I live in Washington, D.C., so I try and take advantage of the many exciting things living in the city has to offer.

Ms. Nimitarnun

My name is Katie Nimitarnun and this is my first year here at CCES. I taught kindergarden and first grade in California, and I moved to Maryland for a new adventure. I attended Chapman University in Southern California, where I got my teaching certificate. I love to go out to restaurants and be outdoors with my friends. I have a dog named Gidget, who is still in California. I miss her very much. I am very excited to be here at CCES!

Mrs. Sakaria

This is my fourth year at CCES as a part-time paraeducator. I grew up in Ohio and attended Ohio State University. After coming to Maryland for an internship, and later earning a Masters in Social Work, I took some time off to be with my kids. As I now look to begin working full-time since my two children (ages 7 and 10) are in school, I have entered the CITE program with MCPS and University of Maryland to earn my Masters in Education. In 2009, I look forward to having my own classroom. In my spare time (which is minimal at this time), I love going on trips with my family, scrapbooking, and reading. As with my own children, I believe that every child is capable of being successful with the right tools and motivation.
