Maria York, ELD teacher
I attended Washington University in St. Louis (Sociology major, Spanish minor).  After graduating, I worked in Costa Rica for a year as volunteer English teacher, where I discovered that I enjoyed teaching.  Upon returning home, I completed a master’s degree program at the University of Pennsylvania.  I have been teaching in MCPS since 1994 and have taught grades 3 – 6, Spanish IA/IB, and worked as a staff development teacher and a consulting teacher.   When I am not working, I love to go to the gym, compete in triathlons, travel, read, and bake.
