Media Center Notes
During this second quarter the Cashell students will be working on many media skills and research. The Kindergarten students will continue their work on ABC order and the Rosemary Wells' author unit. The first grade classes will begin their author unit on Lois Ehlert. The second grade classes will learn about the Dewey Decimal system and create nonfiction booklets to record the bibliographic information. The third grade classes are continuing to locate items using the Spectrum Patron's Catalog. They will begin a short research project on countries and use the new online resource, Culturegrams. The fourth grade classes will work on poetry and the Eloise Greenfield author unit this quarter. Both the fourth and fifth grade classes will continue to read the Black-Eyed Susan nominated books and work with the MCPS online resources in order to access information for their research and projects.
We would like to thank Leslie Reed and the parent volunteers for all their hard work in planning and organizing the fall Book Fair. This was a successful event and we appreciate all their efforts. We also would like to thank Mrs. Reed, Mrs. Hopwood, and Mrs. Rutkowski for their book donations. These will certainly enhance the Media Center collection.
