About this Assignment

This year, Cabin John Middle School decided to establish a new tradition. We asked our student writers to submit poetry, short stories, memoirs or any written work for our Literary Café. The Literacy Committee members at CJMS reviewed all of the submissions and selected the works to be shared at our café. Student musicians were also invited to participate. Red-checked tablecloths, tiny lights, café posters, flowers, hot chocolate and light snacks all transformed our media center into a true café. The student writers did a wonderful job sharing their work with the audience. It was a very memorable event, and we have decided to make this an annual tradition here at Cabin John Middle School.
