A-Ask Questions

  • Assess background knowledge--what do you already know and what do you need to find out?

  • Analyze the problem and develop/refine questions.

Where was ancient Egyptian civilization located? How did the physical features and geographic characteristics of Egypt affect the development of its civilization?

How did the Egyptian government support the needs of the people?

What was the role of the social class structure in the daily life of the ancient Egyptians?

What role did religion play in Egyptian civilization?

What were the major cultural developments in architecture, public works, and shelters? 

How did the Egyptians use their natural, capital and human resources to
produce more goods and services?

What were major cultural developments of the Egyptian civilization in written language & crafts such as art, drawing, sculpture & pottery?

What were the major technological developments of the ancient Egyptians which helped advance their civilization?

G-Gather Information

Decide which sources are best for your topic.
Identify key words and phrases .
Determine which resources will provide background information and which resources
will provide more specific information with supporting details.

Use text features to identify essential information from text.
Skim and scan for information that answers your question.
Verify the "worthiness" of the information.
Record relevant information--summarize and paraphrase--avoid plagiarism.
Record bibliographic information.

O-Organize Information

  • Use a graphic organizer (in this case, your note cards) to organize your findings.

  • Cite your source (book, magazine, website or online resource) and take notes for each source.

  • Arrange the information into a logical order.

  • Generate your video from Photostory and COPY AND PASTE it into the handin folder.
