TITLE:  Dragon Kiss

WHY READ:  It is VERY exciting and you would not want to stop reading.

SUMMARY:  It is about a dragon named Audun who has fallen head over heels in love for a human girl named Millie. She can turn into a dragon, so Audun must know how to turn into a human to win Millie's heart. The king gives him missions to pass, but danger awaits the dragons....

WHY LIKE:  Because there is so much adventure, when all that adventuring is for love.

CHARACTERS:  Audun, the dragon, Millie, the human girl, Olebald, the wizard, and Song of the Glaicer, Audun's grandmother

WHY GOOD:  It is very amazing how far Audun will go and how determined he is, just to be able to marry Millie. There is just sooooo much adventure and a bit of humor.

RECOMMENDATION:  Fantastic
GENRE:  Fantasy

TITLE: Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH
AUTHOR NAME: Robert O’Brien

NAME: Camron M

TEACHER: Mr. Unger

WHY READ: This book has suspense and not much adventure, but has a great ending and good plot.

SUMMARY: Mrs. Frisby and her four young children have to move out of their "house" because it is the season where the farmer of the farm where they live is going to plow the field. But one of her children catches a very deadly cold and restricts them from moving to their refuge "house." Mrs. Frisby then finds help from a secret rat society, which is very intelligent, and helps them move their house to a safe distance.

WHY LIKE: The book has great parts, for example, when the rat saved a crow who was caught in a balloon string. That was really funny.

CHARACTERS: Mrs. Frisby, her four children, and the rats of NIMH.

WHY GOOD: Everything. There were no flaws in this book!!!

RECOMMENDATION: Fantastic

TITLE: Gregor the Overlander

WHY READ: This book is so awesome!! Read It!!

SUMMARY: This book is about an eleven-year-old boy who finds a hole in his laundry room. His sister fell in, so he jumps in to try to save her. He lands in a place called the Underland. He finds out that he is some sort of warrior and is supposed to save the Underland.

WHY LIKE: It is very exciting.

CHARACTERS: Gregor

WHY GOOD: It is always keeping you guessing and has a lot of action.

RECOMMENDATION: Excellent

GENRE: Fantasy

TITLE: Gregor and the Prophecy of Bane
AUTHOR NAME: Suzanne Collins

WHY READ: This book is the best book, read it!!

SUMMARY: Gregor goes back to the Underland and finds out that he is part of another prophecy. This is calling him to kill a giant white rat.

WHY LIKE: It is very suspenseful and always great.

CHARACTERS: Gregor

WHY GOOD: IT IS GREAT

RECOMMENDATION: Fantastic

GENRE: Fantasy

TITLE: Watership Down
AUTHOR NAME: Richard Adams

NAME: Camron M

TEACHER: Mr. Unger

WHY READ: This book has a great plot, lots of action & fighting, creates suspense, and all I can say is I absolutely loved this book.

SUMMARY: Fiver, a young rabbit, has a vision of something bad happening to their home (village) and gathers a group of rabbits to come with him to create a new colony where they will be able to survive. But, they have no does (female rabbits) to reproduce and keep their colony going. They have to then go through many problems to try to get the does.

WHY LIKE: All of the action and adventures.

CHARACTERS: Hazel, Fiver, Bigwig, Dandelion, and Blackberry.

WHY GOOD: The plot, the adventure, the action, and practically the whole book!!!

RECOMMENDATION: Fantastic

GENRE: Adventure

TITLE:  Percy Jackson and the Olympians; The Lighting Thief
AUTHOR NAME:  Rick Riordan
NAME:  Tiffany C
AGE:  11
GRADE:  6
TEACHER:  Mr. Brandt
WHY READ:  It's really funny and can teach you about Greek mythology while making it interesting. And the movie is coming out on President's Day!
SUMMARY:  A boy who is an Olympian's son on a quest to find Zeus'  lightning bolt before the winter solstice or else war.
WHY LIKE:  It's modern and funny. I love Greek Mythology now!
CHARACTERS:  Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, Luke Castellan, and Grover Underwood.
WHY GOOD:  It's FUN!
RECOMMENDATION:  Fantastic
GENRE:  Fantasy
