INTRODUCTION  TASKS SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT

            INTRODUCTION-
       
Students will explore these essential questions as they
          read for literary experience:
          What purpose does mythology serve?
          How is the legacy of Greek mythology evident today?
          How do literary characters reveal themselves through 
          their thoughts, words, and deeds?

         TASKS
        Students will develop background information about
        mythological adventures and adventurers through the
        following experiences:
        1. Visualize an adventure handout
        2. Mythology KWL handout
        3. What are Myths?  guided reading

          4.  Creation according to the Greeks summarizing
         5.  Getting to the Main Idea (working backwards)
        6.  Who Ya Gonna Call? handout
                Olympians and Contemporary Issues

                                  

 

        SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT
               
students will write to persuade as they read to be informed...
        Students will complete a series of evaluative readings and
        tasks that reveal their understanding of the ancient Greek
        cultural influence in today's society in an assessment titled:
                                It's All Greek to Me
