8th Grade Student Residency

The Grade 8 residency compliance program will be repeated this year. The purpose of this program is to increase assurance that students attending Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) and their families are bona fide residents of Montgomery County . All middle schools will participate in this program by requiring proof of residency for students transitioning from middle school to high school. Students who are homeless or enrolled under kinship care are exempt from this process.

To complete residency verification for your Grade 8 student, please submit the appropriate documentation and the completed MCPS Form 560-33, Student Residency Verification, to Cabin John Middle School by March 1, 2008. These materials will be distributed to students in January. Please ask your student for this information if they have not already given it to you. You may mail, fax (301 469-1003), or hand deliver the documentation. If you have questions regarding what to submit, please contact the Counseling Office at 301 469-1160.

Failure to submit this documentation may affect your child’s high school schedule and/or end of the year activities.
