Mindfulness: An Approach That Can Result in Academic Success

Academic success is the prevailing goal that is emphasized in standards-based education today. It’s no secret that social emotional well-being is a direct link to academic outcomes. Effective focus, motivation, handling frustrations, and communication depend on the ability of the student to understand and manage their emotions. These are basic competencies that are crucial to the success of the student as they progress through school. This workshop will present mindfulness as an extremely powerful component of prevention and treatment of emotional regulation skills and a critical element of academic success.
