Tips for Success
in Ms. Wagner's Class
Some students have asked for hints on how to improve their grades in my class. Here are my suggestions:

Organizing your notebook is the most important thing you can do for yourself. If you have everything we have done in class, and you know where it is, you will have a much better chance to succeed. Every time I give you something, put the page number on it and put it in your notebook. Don't stuff it in your bag or in your textbook. That way, you will always know where it is. Then, when it is time to do your homework or study for a quiz or test, everything is in one place.

HOMEWORK
QUIZZES AND TESTS

arrive in class on time and be in your seat when the bell rings

hand in all homework on time

study for all quizzes and tests (don't assume you remember everything)

leave all food and drink outside the classroom

take time while doing your work to think and develop your ideas

use review sheets when available

pay attention without complaining

understand what you write down

try to imagine questions that I might ask

ask questions during class, if you need to

write in complete sentences on your homework

study with someone else (friend or relative) to try to figure out answers

participate in all class activities

do your homework in ink (or on a word processor)

after you have written any essay, reread the question to make sure you have answered every part
