Greater Washington, DC National College Fair - Monday, September 29, 2008 @Washington Convention Center, Washington DC from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., & 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

  

College Expos Fair – Tuesday, October 7, 2008 @ Discovery Sports Center, Gaithersburg, MD

9:45-12:45 and 6:30-8:30 pm.  (Blake will take interested seniors to this event from 10:00-12:00.  Students must complete the permission form and return it to the Career Center by October 1  to participate.  Valuable evening workshops offered on financial aid, athletic recruiting, and the importance of early college awareness.  Parents of sophomores, juniors & seniors are encouraged to attend this fair with their student during the evening hours!

 

Washington DC Performing and Visual Arts College Fair -  Sunday, November 2, 2008 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center,  Washington DC from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

 

Hispanic College Fair – Wednesday, November 5, 2008 @ Universities at Shady Grove Conference Center, Gaithersburg, 9:30-12:30, MCPS high school field trip for MCPS Latino juniors & seniors.  Permission forms required one week in advance; free bus transportation.

 

Baltimore National College Fair -   November 11-12, 2008 @ Baltimore Convention Center, Baltimore, MD. / Nov. 11 = 9:00 a.m.  to 1:00 p.m., & 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Nov. 12 = 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

JESUIT COLLEGE NIGHT IN MARYLAND - TBA - March  2009, 7:00-9:00 pm - Visit with representatives from 20 of the nation's Jesuit Colleges & Universities at Georgetown Preparatory School, Hanley Athletic Center, 10900 Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD.  For more information, contact the Loyola College Admissions Office, who is planning this event:  410-617-5012.

 

MONTGOMERY COUNTY NATIONAL COLLEGE FAIR - April 15-16, 2009 - Gaithersburg Fairgrounds

Blake Juniors are invited to attend this annual event with classmates.  Permission forms will be made available in early April with a deadline date of April 8 for registration.   MCPS will provide school buses to transport students for $7 each.  Blake students will have the opportunity to speak with college representatives from hundreds of colleges and gathering brochures.  Evening hours are planned on April 16 for parents & students to attend workshops together.  Stay tuned for further details!

 

COLLEGES THAT CHANGE LIVES FAIR - TBA:  Saturday, mid-May in Bethesda and Sunday, mid-May, 2009 in McLean - These college information sessions/fairs are offered all over the U.S.  They are coming to the DC area in May!  Featured are the 40 colleges that Loren Pope wrote about  in his resource book, Colleges That Change Lives.  For a list of participating colleges, specific sites and pre-registration visit the website:  www.ctcl.com/events/washington_dc.htm.
