Area
Perimeter – the distance around a closed plane figure
– the sum of the lengths of its sides
Area – the number of non-overlapping (no points in common) squares of a given size that will exactly cover the interior of a figure.
The Sum of Areas Postulate
If a figure is composed of non-overlapping regions A and B, then the area of the figure is the sum of the areas of regions A and B
Formula
Rectangle: P = 2b + 2h or P = 2l + 2w
A = bh or A = lw
