Grading:

Grades will reflect individual achievement of the MCPS Standards for a specific marking period.  Grades will be posted on each teacher’s webpage, and it is the student’s responsibility to check them frequently.   Honors Geometry grades will be weighted based on the following categories:

                                                45%  Tests

                                                25%  Quizzes

                                                20%  Classwork and Homework

                                                10%  Projects

Student Work:

Each assignment will have a due date.  This is the date by which you are expected to submit the assignment.  Your grade will drop one letter grade if it is not turned in by the due date.  Each assessment will have a one week deadline, unless otherwise specified, which is the last day an assignment will be accepted for a grade.  Work not turned in by the deadline will be considered missing.  Missing work will be recorded in the grade book as an E.  Opportunities to revise student work for a higher grade may be given at the teacher’s discretion.

Preparation:

The student is expected to be in class on time and ready to begin when the bell rings and remains on task throughout the class period.  They are expected to come to class prepared with covered book, homework, calculator, pencil and organized notebook.
