Graduation Speaker - Chad Sanders
Chad is a screenwriter, actor, producer and tech entrepreneur. He is the creator of Archer, a dark comedy set to air next year (2019) on BET that tracks the life of a young, black, coding genius who launches a dating app that reads romantic chemistry. Chad wrote episode 104 of Grownish (along with Elaine Welteroth) and recently published works on the racial undertones in the tech industry and his imperfect attempts at feminism in Teen Vogue. Chad was a partner at tech startup, Dev Bootcamp, where he ran business and product development before the company's exit in 2015. Chad spent the first four years of his career working in Google's headquarters, London and New York offices. Chad's tech and creative careers have included stops all over the US and Europe including living stints in Berlin, London, California and his current Brooklyn residence. Chad's work has recently been covered in Forbes, Variety, Complex and a number of other publications.
Chad was a Presidential Scholar at Morehouse College where he graduated with a B.A. in English in 2010 with honors. While at Morehouse, Chad became a member of the Alpha Rho Chapter of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated.
While at Blake High School, Chad was a captain of the Boys' Basketball Team and a member of the 2005 State Finalist team. Chad played the trumpet in the Blake Marching Band and was Sports Editor of the national award winning Blake Beat newspaper. Chad graduated form Blake High School with honors in 2006.
