TWO BLAKE HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS NOMINATED FOR NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY SCHOLARSHIPS
Allison Pistolessi and Eden Mukenki, Blake High School Seniors and members of the Blake National Honor Society (NHS), have been nominated to compete in the NHS scholarship sponsored by the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP).
Ms Carole Goodman, the principal of Blake High School, today announced the nomination, which places Pistolessi and Mukenki in the competition. Two hundred national NHS winners will be chosen this spring to receive $1,000 college scholarships. Ms Goodman and NHS advisors Ms. Sue Kuklewicz and Ms. Beth Shepherd are very excited about the nominees. They are both worthy candidates who exemplify the very best qualities of NHS students.
High School National Honor Society chapters from across the country were eligible to nominate two seniors to compete. Nominees were selected based on the basis of their leadership skills: participation in service organizations and clubs; achievements in the arts and sciences; employment experience; and academic records. They were also required to write an essay. |
