Our Mission is to encourage students and staff to become lifelong learners and readers and to instruct students and staff in how to access information efficiently and effectively and to use it ethically to communicate ideas.

Our Vision is to provide a link from the members in our school community to the vast amount of resources available to them. We are to be an open, friendly, and welcoming area of the school that embraces cultural and ethnic diversity. We will respect the rights of those entering our doors.

The media center has an extensive collection of print and non-print resources that support your information and research needs. The Blake Media Center has more than 27,000 items including books, periodicals, newspapers, videotapes, CDs, videodiscs, art prints, and music. Students can access the Blake Online Catalog, a variety of online databases, and the Internet from the 40 networked computers in the media center.

The media center staff and resources help students to become information literate and to learn how to choose, evaluate, and use the best resources for their research questions. Media center staff is available to assist you before school, during lunch, and after school.
