Upcoming Events:

We have lots of fun old events and a few new events to get the Blake community involved in Pennies for Patients to support Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. There are many ways that teachers can get involved in this school-wide campaign, motivate your 1st period to donate, dress up in spirit week, throw balls at kids and much more!

This year our goal is to raise more than $10,000.00 and we can do it! We will announce this information to students at the P4P assembly on Mon 2/6.

FUNDRAISERS:

1st period P4P donation boxes and Department boxes - Monday 2/6 to Friday 3/2

Boxes will be delivered on Wed 2/1 (during 2nd period when Leadership meets). Leadership class will check boxes frequently and post totals on the announcements weekly. As with tradition, SGA will be offering a free pizza party or donut party to the TOP 3 1st period Classes and Department who raises the most money. Your support and encouragement to get students participating is much appreciated!!

Spirit Week – Mon 2/6 – Fri 2/10 ($1.00 to dress near the main office)

Mon – Leukemia and Lymphoma Day – Wear Orange, Red and Green
Tues – TV Character Day
Wed – Nerd Day
Thurs – Superhero Day
Fri – Pajama Day

Bengal Ball - Wed 2/8 at 6:30 pm

Start gathering teams of 10 students with no more than one staff member. Students should pay $2.00 to their captain (teams are $20.00 each) and have a current physical on file and fill out the Participation form and Emergency Card form available on www.blakesga.net or outside A201 or F302. Pick a creative team name and captain representative. All forms and payments are due on Fri 2/3 at the mandatory captain meeting at lunch in room B113.

Stuck for a Buck – Friday 2/17 at lunch outside the cafeteria

Students will pay $1.00 to stick a foot long piece of tape to teachers/administrators. Big THANKS to Duboyce, Abuliak, Thomas and Tyrell for volunteering for this new event!

Hat Day - Friday 2/24

Staff/Students can only wear a hat if they have a sticker ($1.00 near the main office and counseling office)

Date Auction – Wed 2/29 at 6:30 pm

We will be having a first ever Date Auction for Blake students. Guys will auction off dates to movies, restaurants and other fun places to bidding Blake females. There will be individual and group dates. Stay tuned for more information. Are you interested in participating? See Ms. Gelb for information.

Penny Wars - 2/13-2/24 (Last 2 weeks of Feb)

Grade levels compete to raise the MOST money. Students can donate at lunch under the spiral staircase in the large decorated water jugs. Results will be posted on the news each week.
