Instrumental Music

Collins, Phil

Children in grades 4 and 5 are eligible for this program. Mr. Phil Collins, the instrumental music teacher, demonstrates the instruments to all fourth graders and interested fifth graders. This is followed by a meeting with the parents of interested children and then the children are screened. Only band and orchestra instruments are taught, and the child must furnish his/her own instrument. The music teacher is here one and a half days a week. Instruction is given according to type of instrument for beginners. Advanced students are instructed in ensemble groups.
