Creating an opera is like putting together a puzzle. Everyone has an important role and everyone contributes equally to it's success. Our company is made up of twenty-six fifth grade students who are putting time and effort into creating an original opera. Each company member has a job such as makeup artist, costume designer, composer, writer, carpenter, electrician, performer, manager, set designer, or public relations officer.
 
Creating Original Opera has been a program of the Metropolitan Opera Guild Education Department. It is in its tenth year at Beverly Farms. The program is made possible by the generous support of the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation. In addition, we enjoy an educational partnership with The Washington National Opera.
