After-school Technology Program

Implemented by Anita Mazzocchi and James Herbold
Feb. 6, March 5, 12, 19, April 2 and 8th.

Session One

Follow Panda Pledge

  1. Sign out to use the Bathroom

  2. Ask our friends first if we have a question

  3. Raise your hand if you have a question

  4. Be quiet, when then teacher or another student is talking

  5. Be respectful, to others and computer equipment

The students used Graph Master to create a consensogram to measure how much they knew about Power Point.

 

Session Two

 

At the end of our second session we asked the students to share some things they learned:

  • I learned that we had to make a group to see how we can be alike.

  • I learned that we had to match up with somebody.

  • I learned about characters and character traits.

  • We learned about books on inventions.

  • I learned from a book that if you don’t like something you can tell somebody and they might have a good idea.

Sessions Three, Four and Five

During Sessions 3, 4 and 5 the students read books with partners and created PowerPoints.

 

Session Six

 

At the end of the six weeks we asked the students what they liked the most from the program. This is what the students said…

  • I liked when we designed and made the people out of the computers.

  • I liked when we learned to typed.

  • I liked when we did the background and pictures.

  • I liked when we made the writing different.

  • I liked when we wrote words and the picture came out (clip art).

  • I liked when we read the books on the computer.

  • I liked when we underlined the words.
