I was born and raised in Danville, Virginia. I graduated from Longwood College (now University) with a degree in Early Childhood Education. After college, I taught for 4 years in southern Virginia before moving to Maryland. This is my 21^{st
year teaching in Montgomery County Schools. I’ve taught kindergarten,
first, second, and third grades. My daughter Jennifer has been working
for the Frederick Keys for the past 4 years and is about to take a job
with the Portland (Oregon) Beavers, a AAA baseball team in the San Diego
Padres organization. My other “child” is my 7 year old Bichon Frise
named Tyson. In my spare time I like to read and garden. I’m an avid
Redskins fan and can be found at Fed Ex Field for every home game!}
