WELCOME FROM ALL SPORTS BOOSTERS PRESIDENT

Dear Parents:

Welcome to a great season of sport activities at Bethesda – Chevy Chase High School. As the president of B-CC All Sports Boosters I am enthusiastic about this upcoming year. B-CC All Sports Boosters is our school's organization designed to help our student athletes and the teams they play on. ALL sports benefit from our fundraising efforts and activities. The Sports Boosters participate in a variety of events and activities that help to give the school a helping hand in their effort to compensate for limited county funds for sports programs. The Boosters just recently sponsored a campus clean up day where dozens of enthusiastic students and their parents came out to get the campus ready for our fall sporting events to start. We provided a great lunch and the tools needed to get the job done. We also provide athletic scholarships, provide funds for campus improvements IE: painting the stadium wall, and provide stipends for coaches and teams for items they might need.

Our funds are raised in a variety of ways, but the one that is the most constant and maybe the most fun is the concession stand. Our goal is to make sure that concession stand is open for almost every outdoor sporting event this fall. The income from the concession stand is a general fundraiser and the funds go to support all the teams. We make sure the stand is stocked and ready to go up to 3 to 4 nights a week. In the past, parents of the team playing that evening would volunteer to help but we don't wish to exclude parents who would like to help out the teams by volunteering even if their child's team isn't playing. There is a lot to do and we can use volunteers for all the games.

Working in concessions is a great way to meet other parents, participate in supporting your student athletes and show your child you are involved. It can be as little as a one hour commitment of your time. If you have other questions about what Sports Boosters is doing, please don't hesitate to ask me. If you are interested in volunteering for concessions, contact Michelle Brown at *Mishfromdc@gmail.com* <Mishfromdc@gmail.com> She can help you find a date to volunteer that works for you.

What a wonderful place B-CC High School is. Be a part of it!

Sincerely,
Gary Zinkgraf

B-CC SPORTS BOOSTERS EMAIL GROUP - BCCSportsBoosters
As our Sports Boosters program continues to grow, so does the need to get
information out to parents and students about atheletic activities,
fundraising events and other information about what B-CC Sports Boosters is doing for our school.

One of our parents has been kind enough to help put this together and
monitor it. There are two ways to get on this list, one is to go to
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BCCSportsBoosters) and click on "Join this
Group" and follow the instructions. This is the prefered way as it will
save time. However, you can also email BCCsportsboosters@yahoogroups.com and
you can request to be added. This may take a bit longer.

This is a great place to announce all sports related information that
impacts the school community as a whole. Please join up now.

Thanks.

B-CC BEAUTIFICATION EFFORTS
Earlier this summer, I sent out an email asking for volunteers to help with painting the wall behind the sports field. So many folks offered help and even sent checks. It was decided that this large of project should be handled by professional painters and we received a wonderful deal from Certapro Painters http://rockville-bethesda.certapro.com/. They have painted the wall and stadium and it looks fantastic. Other such projects are soon to follow ie: tennis courts and other physical plant maintenance.

Although the county does offer some maintenance, we do need the help of the local business communities to subsidize our efforts. So this year, we have decided to activily pursue local business to place "Banner" ads in our stadium. Next Day Signs has given us a great deal on the actual signs so now I need help selling them.

If you own a business and want to order a banner, please contact me. If you have business or community contacts that you feel comfortable approaching, let me know and I will provide you will the flyer/information needed to give them. If you can do this, make sure to send me a list of who you will be approaching so I can keep track. We would hate to overwhelm a local business by approaching them too many times.

Community Clubs and groups are welcome to buy ads as well, or maybe your family wants a banner. But if you have a question about whether a business is appropriate, please ask.

I can not attach a flyer to this but email me and I will send one to you.
The banner sizes and prices will be as follows:

4'x8' on fence above newly painted wall $1,500
2'x7' on fence behind bleachers $1,000
2'X3.5' on fence behind bleachers $750.00

We can all really make a difference in the beautification and safety of our campus by volunteering to help sell banners.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Thank you.

Michelle Brown

B-CC All-Sports Booster Club
Show your: Desire to support, Spirit for service, Enthusiasm for all teams! The B-CC All-Sports Booster Club is non-profit and all volunteer. Our goals are to support the athletic program at B-CC, and to promote school spirit and sportsmanship.

Did you know that the B-CC All-Sports Boosters subsidize sport heath
physicals, give two $1000 sports scholarships, provide stipends to all
teams, contribute to the maintenance of the fields, operate the concession stand, and have contributed to the medical costs of a B-CC alum, sent poms to summer camp, purchased gymnastics equipment and subsidized the buses to the State basketball games?

The All-Sports Boosters need your membership fee, donations, and
your time as a volunteer to continue these wondrous tasks.
