B-CC SIDEWALK CHALK DRAWING CONTEST !!!!!!
Art Boosters is sponsoring the first ever B-CC SIDEWALK CHALK DRAWING CONTEST !!!!!!

It will be Saturday, April 26th from 11-1 pm coinciding with the Sports
Booster Spring Plant Sale. Individuals or teams can enter. The chalk will
be provided. Please sign up in the art room and pick up a copy of the
guidelines from Ms.White. The entrance fee is a plate of cookies or brownies etc. for the Art Booster Bake Sale.

There will be great prizes for the top three drawings! So start planning
your design now!

ART BOOSTERS LISTSERVE ESTABLISHED
The B-CC Art Boosters have started a list serve. Anyone in the B-CC community is invited to subscribe by emailing freemkat@comcast.net. The content of the postings on the Art Boosters list serve will include:

*Announcements of guest speakers and art events at B-CC
*Announcements of exhibitions in the Washington-Baltimore area that might be of interest to students involved in the visual arts
*Announcements of art competitions and scholarships for high school art students
*Schedules of Portfolio Days in the area
*Listings of art classes and workshops
*Lists of sales on art materials and supplies
*Links to interesting websites involving the visual arts
*Wish lists and announcements from our dedicated art teachers
*Notice of college visits at B-CC that have strong art and design departments
*Notice of available help in portfolio development and photography of portfolio material
etc.

To enrich the art program for the coming year, the Art Boosters are
planning:

-- guest speakers for photography and art students
-- a student art and ceramics show at the Bethesda Library
-- a Winter student art show at the Levine School of Music
-- publicity for student arts and activities
-- an 8-week lunchtime seminar on Drawing from Life

Will you help? We need assistance organizing, implementing,
fundraising, working on B-CC hallway/office displays, framing,
seeking donations of working SLR cameras and darkroom equipment,
taking photos of student work for website publication .... and
bringing new ideas to the drawing board. B-CC's talented artists,
ceramists and photographers need your support!
