B-CC Theater Ticket Information

NEXT UP...One-Act Festival

May 16 & 17 at 7:30 p.m.

You don't have to go to Broadway or even the Kennedy Center for great theater. Come to B-CC this Friday and Saturday night, May 16 and 17 at 7:30, for a series of one-act plays directed by this year's crop of IB directing students and starring some fabulous actors. This weekend's shows include dramas and comedies by such noted playwrights as Neil LaBute and Shel Silverstein as well as a short film by B-CC sophomore Anthony Pape-Calabrese. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll definitely be entertained. And at $7 a ticket (available at the door), theater has never been so affordable. Don't miss it!

FRIDAY, MAY 16

Don't miss these amazing shows, beginning at 7:30 this coming Friday.
Tickets $7 at the door.

"Credo" by Craig Lucas

Director: B Keith Geddings II
Person: Brianna Parsonnet
Psychiatrist: Tariro Mzezewa

Credo has brutal honesty and unique personality, yet manages to tell a story and provide real entertainment value. Feel free to laugh, cry, and share as you witness a real life journey to faith and understanding.

"Cinnamon Rainbow" by Ann Wuehler

Director: Alex Donesky
Lucy: Lizzie Parmenter
Tony: Ezra Lewis

A knock at the door. It must be one of those ding dong ditchers again... but there it is again. Twice? It must be the Halloween Bunny... or.... is it?

"Bench Seat" by Neil Labute

Director: Rebecca Zweig
Guy: Jon Miot
Girl: Abby Roberts

The front seat. Since the birth of the automobile it has been an inherently dramatic space that can quickly turn from an endless chasm of silence to a claustrophobe's nightmare and back again. "Bench Seat" portrays the powerful environment of the car in a story of the dangers of words left unsaid during a make out session gone awry.

"What are You Doing in There?" by Shel Silverstein

Director: Bill Sokolove
Mother: Lila Becker
Father: Spencer Johnston
Leonard: Bhenn Houde-Hostland

"What are You Doing in There" is best described as a seriocomedy that
explores what can happen when people stop hearing each other.

"Sure Thing" by David Ives

Director: Alyssa Picard
Bill: Andrew Kragie
Betty: Hannah Rubashkin

You never get a second chance to make a first impression. But what if you did? Would anything be different? Sure Thing approaches these questions in a way that is at once witty and insightful, examining the roles of timing and possibility in human interaction through its quirky dialogue and plot structure.

"Heart of Hearing" by Joseph Zeccola

Director: Lily Karlin
Angie: Julia DePalma
Josh: Sam Roochnik

"Heart of Hearing" mixes exceptional writing with a compelling story to
demonstrate that love is not always enough to maintain a successful
relationship.

"A Pill By Any Other Name is The Wrong Dosage" by Jeff Folschinsky

Director: Carly Clark
Nelson: Stoff Scott
Dad: David Sotille
Janet: Rebecca Olive
Milly: Cameron Kelly

What if you came home to find YOUR father had lost his mind? "A Pill By Any Other Name is the Wrong Dosage" is a simple comedy with an unconventional twist, realistic dialogue, and a modern take on a crazy father.

SATURDAY, MAY 17

If you can't make it Friday night, there are plenty of excellent reasons to
come to the One-Act Festival on Saturday. Or come to both shows, for a truly festive weekend! Show times are 7:30, tickets are $7 at the door.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, the Rain" by Will Eno

Director: Sandy Diehl
Lady: Rosalie Eck
Gentleman: Jorge Thomson

"Ladies and Gentlemen, the Rain" chronicles two lonely hearts looking for happiness. The play has a subtle and quirky humor, eloquent imagery, and an atypical but intriguing format of alternating monologues.

"The Office" by Kate Hoffower

Director: Amanda Stoltz
One: Caroline Borders
Two: Rachel Meltzer
Three: Ria Lazo

"The Office" is a splendid play that thoroughly depicts the banality of a
dead-end job and the comedy that could only come out of true boredom.

"I Am My Mind" (a short film)

Written and Directed by Anthony Pape-Calabrese

Patrick: Anthony Pape-Calabrese
Andrew: Alex Donesky
Susan: Claire Milliken
Katherine: Amanda Bester-Seigel
Ben: Spence Weinreich
Lea: Emmi Stern

Brad: Zach Weinberg
Michael: Spencer Johnston
Judy: Lizzie Parmenter
Samantha: Kate Davis
Jim: Matt Hagerty

In seventh grade, I was inspired by my own disability, dyslexia, to explore how others with "disabilities" face their challenges. I did extensive research and observation to make Patrick an accurate autistic savant. I hope people leave this film wanting to learn more about the dichotomy of disability and ability of autism and take the step to know the person inside.

"Always" by Jon Jory

Director: Jon Dutko
Joe One: Bhenn Houde-Hostland
Joe Two: Jorge Thomson
Ellen One: Naomi Cohen
Ellen Two: Kate Davis

"Always" is a serious show illustrating the inherent flow of the romantic
relationship. The show is at once difficult to stage and a treat to see
performed correctly.

"Small World" by Tracey Wilson

Director: Zach Weinberg
Man 1: Chris Addis
Woman 1: Caroline Diehl
Man 2: John Benson
Woman 2: Sarah Davis
Man 3: Dan Gettinger
Woman 3: Tracey Erbacher

"Small World" is a delicate machine comprised of six separate parts that all
work together in synch to create a unique, surreal comedy.
