2008-2009 SHOWS ANNOUNCED

B-CC THEATER ARTS WELCOME PICNIC!
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 6, 2008 noon - 2 pm
All budding thespians and seasoned veterans of B-CC theater, makr your calendars for the back-to-school pinic on September 6 from noon until 2 pm at Lynbrook Park, 8098 Newdale Road, Bethesda. A few short blocks from B-CC. Not only is this a fun community-building event, but you will learn about upcoming auditions and plans for future theater events. Parents, you will get to know more about how to support our students' interest in theater through membership in the Drama Boosters. This is a pot-luck event.

The B-CC Theater Arts Program is unique among high school theater programs since it provides students with opportunities to both develop and apply their craft within an integrated framework under the guidance of a caring, experienced faculty. Students can take advantage of a multitude of after-school, extra-curricular productions as well as a wide variety of theater-related courses during the school day which include advanced, conservatory-style offerings. Students who complete the full conservatory program can also receive academic recognition from the International Baccalaureate Program. In addition, students have the opportunity to participate in the school Drama Club, a student-run organization that promotes and supports the productions at B-CC and organizes various events throughout the academic year including the annual blood drive, participation in the state theater festival, and the school talent show. Finally, students with advanced theater experience can also apply for membership in the Theater Honor Society, whose members essentially serve as role models, mentors, and tutors for incoming theater program students.
