ANNOUNCEMENTS
MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS Announcements are read at 7:25a.m. each day and posted outside the main office.
IB Testing May 5-21, 2008.
Most tests will be at DeVry University, 4550 Montgomery Avenue. Students must hand in the permission form (given out earlier in their IB classes)BEFORE their exam if they wish to be absent from classes for the non-testing portion of the day. See Ms. Groeneman if you have any questions.
AP Testing May 5-23, 2008.
Schedule. Students must hand in the permission form (given out earlier in their AP classes)BEFORE their AP exam if they wish to be absent from classes for the non-testing portion of the day.
HSA TEST WEEK: May 19-23.
High school students will take the Maryland High School Assessments (HSAs), which measure school and individual student progress. The tests are given in English 10, algebra/data analysis, biology and government. Students take the tests as they complete the courses.

THEATER DEPARTMENT FUNDRAISER
The B-CC Theater Arts department has begun the GOKAV (Give Our Kids A Voice) campaign to raise funds for the purchase of 10 additional wireless microphone systems for the auditorium. More info.
ARENA STAGE'S 2008 AWARD Sophomore Anthony Pape-Calabrese’s play, Off the Hinges, was selected as a winner of Arena Stage’s 2008 Student Playwrights Competition. It will be performed with professional actors on Wednesday, May 21 and Thursday, May 22 at 7:30pm. Reservations recommended or call 202-488-3300.
MCPS ENVIRONMENTAL FILM FEST: Congratulations to Jeremiah Banks, Johane Joly, Matt Kaplun, Drew Kochman, Dometric Robinson, Lydia Schneider and sponsor Dr. Melanie Vacchio! Their short film “A Green Life” won third place in the MCPS Environmental Film Fest! Each student won a $100 scholarship to attend the American University School of Communication Summer Program.
ATTENTION ALL PARENTS – ACCREDITATION FOR GROWTH (AFG)
B-CC is currently seeking reaccreditation from the Middle States Commission. AFG is a unique accreditation process that uses strategic planning as a vehicle for school improvement and growth in student performance. Click here for more information.
COURSE FEES CAN NOW BE PAID ON-LINE
Please download INSTRUCTIONS and FEE SCHEDULE here. IB Exam fees and Concert attire fees can also be paid on-line. Check your course schedule first so you can pay all your fees in one transaction. There is a processing fee based on the amount of the order.
